Knights of the King's Table
One simply cannot overestimate the importance and power of memorizing scripture. It is crucial to standing against temptation and nourishing both our souls and the souls of each other. Psalm 119:11 says, "I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." (ESV) Colossians 3:16 urges us "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another..." (ESV)
Knights of the King's Table is the scripture memory ministry of Grace Community Church. Each year a different set of memory verses is selected according to a rotating theme. Verses are assigned to the participants in groups of 4 or 5 per month. From September thru March, (except December), we meet for instruction and encouragement and testing of the verses we are memorizing. The season culminates with a scripture memory quiz in March.
Our category this year is marked by the gold color as we are focusing on the Believer's Hope - we are part of the Royal Family.
Knights of the King’s Table 2021-2022; Gold Cards; Members of the Royal Family
This year’s “Knights of the King’s Table” (the GCC Scripture Memory Program) will focus on “The Believer’s Hope.” … Ephesians 2:12 speaks of the sad condition of nonbelievers who are in the world “without God” and “without hope.” The Scripture memory verses for this year will focus on the doctrine of the Christian’s union with Christ and how this makes him/her a member of the eternal royal family of God; thus, placing him/her in a position of privilege and favor before God.
In order to withstand the pressures of the spiritual darkness surrounding us every day in our generation, and in order for us to enjoy the full measure of assurance, joy, and peace which God has for us as Christians in this present life, we must be well grounded in this doctrinal truth concerning our position in Christ. We will also explore the future implications of this truth, which will help enable us to successfully endure the trials and sufferings of this present life (Romans 8:18), and to “rejoice in hope of glory” (Romans 5:3); all because of “Christ in us, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).
This is absolutely fundamental, “must-know” truth for every Christian! Come and hide this truth in your heart through memorization and meditation on “the exceedingly great and precious promises” of God
(II Peter 1:4).
Knights of the King’s Table will meet at 6:30 PM on the following Sunday evenings throughout this school year: 9/19; 10/17; 11/21; 1/9; 2/20.
The Scripture Memory Quiz is scheduled for Sunday evening March 20, 2022.
